A few months prior to their wedding I was asked to photograph their proposal by being a sneaky family photographer. That was one of the coolest things I have ever photographed. Seeing the pure emotion and love as well as seeing Devon's adorable daughter have a role in the entire thing. (She got to hold the ring!) A few months later they contacted me to shoot their wedding and I was over the moon to help!
On October 15th 2017 I got to shoot at a new favorite venue, Hemlock Farms which is only like 10 mins from my home! Devon and Mike had an awesome super casual wedding where it felt a lot like a family get together/awesome party.
This venue is great because the getting ready spot is in the loft of the barn - which is BEAUTIFUL! I just wanted to stay the night there and kick everyone else out at the end of the reception! There was also a great spot around a fire pit for people to hang out as well as the tented area for the dancing.
After everyone was all set, we wandered down for the ceremony. The ceremony was perfect, was oddly warm, but it was full of emotion and you could see the love between the two of them. At the end of the ceremony there was a toast to the bride and groom which is a fun new tradition I am seeing. Everyone basically grabs a drink before the ceremony starts and then they toast to the bride and groom before they walk out of the ceremony spot. It was a fun addition to their wedding day!
Overall this wedding was beautiful and full of love. I adore these photographs and I really hope that you guys, whoever is out there paying attention to my posts, enjoys these photos as well!
